CYP1A1 - Cytochrome P450 1A1 from Rattus norvegicus

CYP1A1 (Cytochrome P450 1A1) is an enzyme in the cytochrome P450 family (CYPs). CYP1A1 plays a role in phase I metabolism by catalyzing oxygenation of the substrates, producing reactive intermediates that are often further processed by phase II enzymes (3). CYP1A1 metabolizes environmental toxins, including dioxins and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) (1) (2).

CYP1A1 is integrated into a detoxification module where it initiates the oxidative breakdown of harmful pollutants. This part was combined with POR, that provides the reducing power to CYPs, in the composites.
